You may make three choices. Your first choice should be the program you are most interested in. 

Transportation is provided for students who live within the East Tech transportation zone. Check eligibility by clicking the buttons below. Contact the CCSD transportation office at 702-799-8100 if you have any questions. Please note: Parents must provide transportation for magnet students who live outside the zone.

Due to Nevada Interscholastic Athletic Association (NIAA) rules, East Tech does not offer competitive sports. East Tech students may be eligible to participate in competitive sports at their zoned school. Contact the zoned school regarding eligibility for sports and other activities. Students participating in athletics and activities at their zoned school are responsible for transportation to and from practices, matches and games. Consult the NIAA Handbook and NAC 386.787 for specific information regarding magnet students.
Program changes are not permitted at East Tech. We fill all of our seats in our programs each fall, and there simply are not open seats for students to transfer into from another programs.

No, a student may only major in one program however; students may take a variety of electives. Culinary Arts and Marketing both offer their programs of study as electives. There are also several elective CTE programs of study that offer college credits, such as: Computer Science, Graphic Design, Forensic Science, Video Production and Welding.

Per the magnet contract, all CCSD magnet students agree to maintain an overall 2.0 GPA, no more than 10 absences (excused or unexcused) per semester, no D's or F's, no N's or U's, no excessive tardies, and no behavior infractions. Any magnet student who fails to meet one or more of these criteria will be placed on Academic Probation, with the following procedure:

No. Once a student is enrolled at East Tech, they remain students at East Tech until they graduate, withdraw or are dismissed.

Per the magnet contract, all CCSD magnet students agree to remain enrolled in the magnet for the entire year. Any student may withdraw from East Tech at the end of the school year. 

 

If extenuating circumstances exist (such as moving out of state or out of the country,) please contact the Magnet Coordinator.

Students who successfully complete their CTE program of study (program completers) MAY be eligible for FREE college credit from a variety of post-secondary institutions in Nevada. The following East Tech CTE programs are currently articulated with college credit: Automotive Technology, Community Health Science, Computer Science, Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Design Drafting, Early Childhood Education, Forensic Science, Graphic Design, Hospitality & Tourism, Industrial Maintenance, Information Technology, Marketing, Medical Assisting, Sports Medicine, Teaching & Training, Video Production and Welding Technology.

Any student enrolled in a Career & Technical Education (CTE) program of study is considered a completer when:

A Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) is a co-curricular "club" that is associated with one or more of our CTE programs of study. All CTSOs are student-led organizations that provide opportunities for career and professional development, community service, leadership and competitive events. The CTSOs currently available to our students are:
