The Clark County School District announced on July 21, 2020 that all CCSD schools will begin the new school year with Online/Distance Learning. The start of a new school year is one of the most exciting times for educators and students, and there is nothing we would like more than to have our students physically back on campus. However, as our community continues to face the challenges of COVID-19, we need--and must--put the safety and health of our students, staff, and families first. I can assure you that our Titan staff will continue to work diligently to provide our students with a high quality education and access to college and career readiness learning opportunities.
Please know that I, too, share your concerns about this new challenge and want to embrace this new innovative teaching and learning model. As parents and educators, our children need us now more than ever. They need to see and hear our positive disposition about Online/Distance Learning for their growth, learning, and wellbeing. Online/Distance Learning is a new venture for many of us; however, we will do so TOGETHER, with our collective strength and effort to make the best out of this situation for all of our students, staff, and families.
On July 22, 2020, we received the CCSD Reopening of School Implementation guide and we are putting together our school-specific plan to meet the needs of our East Tech school community. Information changes rapidly, and early next week, we are anticipating an updated and revised Reopening of School Implementation guide from CCSD. We understand that you have many questions on what the upcoming school year will be like. Our team is collaborating and hard at work putting together the final details for our opening of school, which needs to be in alignment with CCSD guidelines. In a few weeks, our plan will be finalized; at that time we will share with our parents and families. We thank you for your patience and understanding as our amazing staff is working to prepare for the new school year and Online/Distance Learning.
The first day of school will be August 24, 2020 and early next week, we will send out a survey regarding technology and internet connectivity needs for students. We want to make sure that all of our Titan students have access to a technology device and internet connectivity. Lastly, for updated information, please visit our East Tech Titans website.
